Day 2: abdominal cavity dissection
Beginning the dissection
Day 2 was the first real dissection day. In this picture, I am snipping across the diaphragm and down around the umbilical cord. The umbilical cord is still intact. In this stage of dissection, I saw the liver, stomach, intestines, and mesentery. The small intestine stretched out to be more than twice the length of BVS3! The small intestine of an adult man is a little more than 22 feet long.
