lab- disease detective
I was hired to figure out where a sudden outbreak of dizzy fever originated in order to prevent future epidemics. Two groups of campers were in the national park and were affected by the disease. Six of the eight people came down with dizzy fever after enjoying different activities around camp, including hiking in caves, eating restaurant food, going on a ranger tour, visiting a petting zoo, mining for gold, swimming in the lake, and picking berries. All except one sustained insect bites. Using the information they gave me about the day prior to the infection, I was able to deduce that the disease was spread by snails found in the swimming lake.
