LAB: sheep brain dissection
separating the hemispheres
My 7th grade class did a brain dissection. In this picture, I am cutting the left and right hemispheres of this sheep brain apart along the longitudinal fissure. You can clearly see the sulci and gyri along the sides of this preserved brain. The tip of the brain farthest to your left is the frontal lobe; the area concealed by my thumb is the brain stem and spinal cord.
